The goal of this cookbook is to help the person on COUMADIN® to consume approximately the same amount of vitamin K each day in a heart-healthy way. This is essential to help maintain a PT/INR (prothrombin time/International Normalized Ratio) within the desired therapeutic range on a given COUMADIN® dose. The cookbook provides practical dietary guidelines for patients who take the anticoagulant COUMADIN®. Patients who take the generic form of COUMADIN®, warfarin sodium, can also use this cookbook.
